Receiving the New Year & Manifesting Your Dreams

Updated: Dec 29, 2020

December 28, 2020

Let's face it. 2020 was a difficult year for most of us. Even in the best case scenario where you still have a job, did not get sick and were able to harness the circumstances to work on your self and re-prioritize your life, we were still unable to freely fulfill some of our most basic human needs, like physical connection.

Regardless of your situation and your experiences this year, the events of the last 10 months have taken a toll on our mental health and energy bodies, whether we realize it or not. Still, 2020 is only the outward expression of energy that has been intensifying for several years. The social and political unrest, the hatred and divisiveness, Rona, the financial downturn, the natural disasters, etc. All of it has been building and building like magma rising in a volcano as it prepares to erupt.

As much as we want to blame the calendar year and pretend that the stroke of the clock at midnight on December 31st will change everything, we all know better.

And yet, I am incredibly hopeful. Why? Because I truly believe that you cannot heal what is still hidden. The shadow has to be brought to light so that it can become conscious. And, 2020 was the expression of our collective shadows times 10.

If you are not familiar with Shadow work I will summarize it by saying that it is the process of bringing subconscious wounds, fears and needs to the conscious mind so they can be healed from the root.

And then, the work begins.

It is imperative that we look upon our lives with awareness and work to heal our wounds and past pain. And that we get in touch with ourselves and with what we want to create in our experience so that we take aligned steps towards that vision.

I am sharing here a brief ritual to help you energetically close out 2020 and open yourself up to all the amazing things you can create for yourself and for the world around you in 2021.

  • Write down all the dysfunctional behaviors, patterns and dynamics that you experienced in 2020 [and prior years] and what you learned from them.

  • Give thanks for the lessons.

  • Go out under the full moon and bury the piece of paper in the ground. The next full moon is on December 29, 2020.

  • Cleanse your energy. You can do this by smudging with ethically-sourced white sage, palo santo or other herbs like cedar or rosemary. Or, by taking a swim in a body of water or taking a bath or a shower.

  • Then, write down what you want to manifest in your life in the coming 6 to 12 months. Include the first few tangible actions you will take to help create that experience.

  • Go out under the new moon on January 13, 2021 with what you wrote. Summarize your intention into one or two sentences and state it out loud and ask the universe for assistance and guidance. **It is not necessary to use the moon cycles, but it helps to amplify your intentions.

  • Fold the piece of paper and put it under your mattress or pillow. If privacy is a concern, you can dissolve it in water.

  • Now... the most important step: Remember your intention and take tangible, consistent and aligned action towards it. Pay attention to the signs and synchronicities that show up in your life. And recalibrate as needed.

Astronomically, astrologically, physically and energetically this year is one of transition. So let's take advantage of that and start moving in the direction of our joy and fulfillment.
